Louise Cook works in Fonterra’s On-Farm Excellence Environment team looking at the tools, data and services Fonterra can offer to farmers to support the profitable productive achievement of emissions intensity reduction. Louise has 18 years in the New Zealand dairy industry; 4 years with DairyNZ in an extension role and 14 years of large-scale Corporate business management and farm oversight for some of our largest (Landcorp/Pamu) and most visible (Owl Farm/ Southern Dairy Hub) farms. Louise is really passionate about supporting farmers and helping navigate the new regulatory environment we find ourselves in, focusing on practical, profitable efficiency gains that also meet environmental outcomes along with supporting the people needs in farm businesses. With a lot of time on the ground in gumboots, Louise has a wealth of experience in understanding what farmers are actually tasked with doing. As a self-confessed “spreadsheet-geek” Louise loves data and modelling the outcome of new regulations for farms for fun.
